Corset care, do's and do nots

After wearing, corsets should be aired lying flat or hung by the laces over a chair or top of a door, with each half of the corset hanging over each side. Never roll a corset up for storage.
It is our advice not to have your corset dry cleaned, however if you need to wash your corset please do so following the instructions below.

 (1) Fill a basin or shallow fill a bath with warm water and some mild detergent. Somthing suitable for delicate fabrics.

 (2) Holding your corset in both hands at each outer edge swish it in the water at least 20 times and turn over and repeat.

For stubborn marks use a little more detergent on a soft sponge, ie. a baby or cosmetic sponge, and rub the mark gently.
Repeating stage (2) once more your corset is ready to rince.

(3) Rince well in cold water, swishing your corset around using the above method until the water runs clear.

DO NOT WRING YOUR CORSET OUT

(4) Wrapping your corset in a towel pat it gently to absorb as much water as possible.

(5) Unwrap yor corset and gently stretch every part of it from top to bottom, especially along the stay and boned pockets to restore its original shape.

(6) Hang your corset as described above, making sure you never place your corset near a direct heat source, such as a radiator or a fire, as this
will cause uneven drying, warping its shape and boning.
